I know you must get this a lot, but the Coffee Cantata scene in "Bullitt" is just magical for me. Keep up the good work Mr. Johnson, and I'm glad I finally get to write to you. Best wishes.

Nat, You were one of the main men of my life growing up in school. You have continued to grow into a friend who has done so much for mankind.
It's been nearly 40 years since we worked together. Everyone of my friends in the meantime has heard of legendary Nat Johnson. Now we are about to see one another again.

Hello Nat: I heard you on Desert Island this morning. I am a drummer/singer. I started out in NY playing with some great players in the 50s, and then went to Juilliard for 2 years. I stopped playing for many years. I started playing again about 12 years ago playing classical. I'm studying with Akira Tana and Nate Pruitt. For the past five years I've had a jazz group called pentimento jazz. We have two steady gigs, one on Sundays in Palo Alto. It only pays $65 apiece but it's a veI'mry nice restaurant and it includes dinner and bar. I'm playing with pianist Sue Crossman from
San Francisco. I was so impressed with your presentation that I wonder if you would consider playing with us? I know the bread is light, and I, of course, will
understand if you feel it's too far, or
not of interest. Sincerely, Mike
